CFI has brought to the international market films such as Jason Reitman's Thank You For Smoking, Black Book directed by Paul Verhoeven, Duncan Tucker's Transamerica and more recently The Messenger directed by Oren Morverman and the forthcoming Extract from cult director Mike Judge.

CFI is six years old this week and the move reflects the company's aim to work with both bigger budget and US films.

ContentFilm's CEO John Schmidt said: "We're very excited to have Jamie in LA. Our company is growing rapidly and this expansion of the film unit into the US is the logical next step as we look to acquire more US product."
