A band of hapless misfits gather at the glitzy St. Claire's Hotel and Casino and while playing the slot machines, they each win a special gold coin which invites them to the penthouse suite of the hotel to receive their 'prize'. Donald St. Claire, owner of the hotel, explains that he has left $2 million in a train station locker in Silver City, New Mexico and the first one there gets the money. This unsuspecting group of Vegas visitors embarks on an hilarious adventure that takes them on a road race to find their fortune - all at the expense of a group of 'high rollers'. The racers encounter a string of obstacles in a madcap, fast paced scramble across the desert, only to discover that money isn't the only thing that's waiting for them in Silver City.
